Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) stated that it was exciting to observe the growth in Israeli tourism from the United States. Canada is in the process, like the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw the number increase to 6,000.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see Canada’s tourism to Israel rebounding. “We aren’t far off our record 2019, and we anticipate that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling abroad.”
In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million international tourists including 969,600 from the United States, and since its official reopening to everyone regardless of their vaccination status in May of this year Israel has witnessed over 600,400 US tourists.
