NEW YORK – September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — New record breaking tourist arrivals to the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. “It is exciting to witness a second rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking figure of the year 2019,” he stated. “The United States is our most important market for Israel’s inbound tourism. Before the COVID-19 pandemic we saw record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are extremely happy to see this positive change and expect this trend to last for a long time.”
Canada, which has 7,200 visitors in July 2022, and 6,000 in August, isn’t too far behind the United States.

We are close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019, and we are anticipating that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue as Canadians feel more at ease when they travel abroad.
In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since its official reopening for everyone regardless of their the status of their vaccination in May of this year, the country has already witnessed over 600,400 US visitors.
