Fico Gutierrez continues his victory over the voters. He has stepped up his campaign in Boyaca with a trip to the Virgin de Chiquinquira

Federico Gutierrez as presidential candidate says that votes can only be won in the streets. And he’s got just 32 days until the first presidential election, where he is expected to compete with Gustavo Petro for the House of Narino’s the quota.

Gutierrez visited Boyaca on Saturday, a holy area which Petro went to on Friday. The former mayor and the current candidate for center-right arrived in Tunja to meet with academics, businessmen and agricultural farmers as well as peasants.

The main gathering of Fico was held at the Tunja Convention Center, where the president gathered a large group of people who declared their vote for the election on May 29.

Federico posted an Twitter clip with ruana along with thousands of Colombians supporting his candidacy for the Team for Colombia. Federico declared: “We’re Going to Win. We’re all in, we are running for president to transform and unite Colombia.” This was while he recorded the support of a group without a break.

The second person to be a pointer in the polls was one who made it to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquira. It is an important spot where hundreds of faithful and followers gather each weekend. The leader of the center-right kneeled and entrusted himself to the Virgin in the in the midst of his followers as well as the faithful waiting for the morning Eucharist.

“I requested the Virgin to provide me with lots of wisdom. He said I could pray to him and my family along with all Colombian families, for peace and the most humble.

In the same location, the presidential candidate also captured his visit on video. Before entering the area, he met many people who were able to hug him. The presidential candidate also donned the official outfit of the Colombian municipality.

Gutierrez arrived at the church with the Boyacan ruana (traditional Boyacan ruana) and the medal from the Virgin of Chiquinquira (a symbol of faith that he wore throughout his political campaigns). The Antioquian had been to Jericho (Antioquia) three weeks before and gathered with Mother Laura, the sole Colombian saint recently canonized by Pope Francis.

The candidate from Chiquinquira used the occasion to visit the community and give announcements to those who were expected to arrive at the presidential palace. “Chiquinquira’s key issues include drinking water, construction and maintenance roads (especially Ruta los Comuneros/Ubate-Chiquinquira), and tourism to stimulate employment and sustainable growth.”

Fico Gutierrez spoke about work, he said that Tunja is the second city that has the highest rate of unemployment in the country, so in his plan for government, the goal is to create “about 2 thousand new jobs, including the creation of at minimum 300 new businesses for Boyaca”.

However the minister also said that sustainable mobility must be generated in the department. He also said that he will continue working on the construction of roads as well as cycling routes.

Gutierrez also sent out a message to producers of potatoes: “Peasants & farmers of Boyaca and Boyaca, we will work to create more chances and income, and we will re-dignify this field.” This is the most recent tweet he has tweeted.
