This is a 4% rise over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was exciting to see the growth in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019, he said. “The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking numbers of tourists entering the country every month. This is a positive change that we are happy to see and we expect an upward trend for months to follow.”
Canada is also on track, just as the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada received 7,200 visitors and August saw the number increase to 6,000.
“It is thrilling to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is booming,” said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. נווה פריצקי “We aren’t too far from our record 2019 numbers and we anticipate that this increase in travel to Israel will further increase as Canadians remain comfortable traveling internationally.”
