NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022/PRNewswire/ — The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from 2019.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. He stated, “It’s so exciting to once more see an increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, and already in the process of surpassing or exceeding the record-breaking numbers we saw in 2019”. “The United States remains our most important market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic there was a record-breaking number of tourist entry numbers every month. We are delighted to see this shift and expect a steady upward trend for months and even years.
In line with the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass the number of tourists visiting Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that “it’s thrilling to observe how Canada’s tourism is rebounding.” We are close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019, and we anticipate that this increase in travel to Israel will continue as Canadians are more comfortable at ease abroad.
