NEW YORK – Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a four percentage increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% higher than in the year 2019.
“It is thrilling to see yet another increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019,” stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. “The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, we were celebrating record-breaking tourist entry numbers every month. We are thrilled to see this shift and expect an ongoing upward trend for months and even years.
Canada is poised to surpass Israel’s tourist arrivals by attracting 7,200 tourists to Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 tourists in August.

Israel received more than 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 were from the United States. The country’s official reopening to all travelers in May has seen more than 600,000.
