This is 13% more than 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was thrilling to witness the growth in Israeli tourism coming from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019 he stated. “The United States is our number one market for inbound tourism for Israel. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are extremely happy to see such a positive shift and expect it to continue for many months and years.”
In line with in the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourism numbers in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,000 in August.
“It is exciting to see how the Canadian tourism to Israel is rebounding,” said Gal Hana Consul and Director of Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. “We are near our record-setting numbers in 2019. We anticipate that this trend will continue as Canadians travel more abroad.
Israel received more than 4.6 million tourists from abroad in 2019 and this included 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter whether they have been immunized. Israel has already hosted more than 600,000.
