Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry From the United States

NEW YORK – Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% from the year before. Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. “It is thrilling to witness a second rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of 2019,” he stated. “The United States has been our most important destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we had record figures of the number of tourists entering Israel each month.

Canada, which has 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022 and 6,000 in August is not much from the United States. Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was exciting to see tourism from Canada to Israel rebounding. “We are not far off our record-setting numbers in 2019, and we are anticipating that this growth in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians remain confident about traveling internationally.”

In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since the country’s official opening to all travelers regardless of vaccination status in May The country has witnessed over 600,400 US travelers.
