Federico Gutierrez managed to reach the finals of his candidacy for the center-right party, and by gaining over 1.7 million votes. He was the ex-mayor of Medellin, won Barguil, Char Penalosa, Barguil, and the tab of the los Cristianos, Aydee Lizarazo.
Federico Gutierrez is a former mayor of Medellin and was born in Medellin in 1974. In his career as an elected council member, he backed the city’s mayorship of Sergio Fajardo and later that of Alonso Salazar. He changed his mind and became the Mayor’s Office of Medellin in 2015. Like other mayors in the Hidroituango projects the mayor was beset by corruption. Daniel Coronell published an investigation that concluded that he was accused of corruption and kept his cash in tax havens.
He confronted ex-mayors who he supported. Fico Gutierrez told them, “I’ve been in solidarity” with them.
A new race for the presidency
In the month of October, 2021, the so called Experience coalition was created that later became known as the Team for Colombia. Federico Gutierrez, being the center-right coalition, won the election. Paola, a Democratic Center representative was able to back him in his bid for another term.

Fico will be Antioquia’s representative for the right.
