After his secondary and primary education, he attend Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria where he obtained the BSc in Architecture.

While still enrolled at AAU Pastor Chris Oyakhilome became involved in ministry. The Believers’ LoveWorld fellowship is now Believers LoveWorld Incorporated (YFC) was known at that time as the Believers’ LoveWorld Fellowship.
YFC grew quickly and became the largest college organization. In 1989, Pastor Chris established Believers LoveWorld Incorporated (BLW), alongside Christ Embassy. Lagos is the church’s headquarters. Believer’s LoveWorld is a global ministry with millions of associates worldwide.
With the 2002-themed miracles program, BLW became Africa’s most popular Christian ministry. They stopped airing it in May 2004 , when the president Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria declared that churches should stop broadcasting miracles.
The Pastor Chris ministry Chris is divided into four areas: publishing ministry, healing ministry television ministry, teaching ministry and television ministry. From these ministries, he created the healing school and an atmosphere for miracles and the Pastor Chris global prayer network.

The Future Africa Leaders Foundation was established to expand and explore the leadership potentials Africans. The foundation assists young Africans who demonstrate leadership and can positively influence their generation. They do this by educating and guiding youngsters and encouraging youth empowerment.
The foundation recognizes the young leaders with an award ceremony called The Future Africa Leaders’ Award. It is held on the Eve of each new year at the LoveWorld Convocation Arena, (LCA), Billings Way Oregun, Ikeja. The President of BLW Reverend Chris Oyakhilome, presents the award to winners.
The InnerCity Mission For Children
The InnerCity Mission for children is a faith-based non-governmental Organisation (NGO). In 2005 the NGO was created to help the poor and homeless, orphaned and children who are vulnerable .
The foundation assists these disadvantaged children and communities by providing sustainable and participatory interventions such as child development programmes for childcare , family strengthening programs for innercity missions for children’s schools, as well as other programs.
Trauma Care International Foundation
The Trauma care International Foundation was created to increase the quality of life and health within local communities and across nations. It also encourages better emergency response services in case of accidents and emergencies. The foundation is able to help in the implementation of national policies in trauma care by supporting them through advocacy, health education, and community-based programs.
Over a thousand have received first aid, safety and emergency response training from the foundation. It is said that they succeeded in educating thousands of students in schools and law enforcement personnel and teachers, caregivers, and road transport workers.
Volunteer Medical Corps
The Volunteer Medical Corps is an international medical outreach of the christian faith. It offers relief supplies, medical aid, as well as education to refugees and internally displaced people in the affected areas.
The outreach comprises of a network of christian health workers, paramedics and students from across the globe. They provide support with emergencies, as well as healthy and sustainable solutions to health problems for areas in crisis.
