Shurat Hadin -based legal activist group is encouraging Australian survivors and their families to join its class action program against insurance companies whose Holocaust-era antecedents failed to pay out on policies held by displaced and murdered European Jews.

Darshan-Leitner said Darshan-Leitner stated that US Senate estimates indicate that as high as $US200 Billion in payments were deferred to Jewish policyholders because of insurance companies that were in default during WWII. A lot of these companies have successor entities that can be traced that have taken over these liabilities.
Shurat HaDin uses its financial expertise to hunt banks that hold assets of terrorists.

Shurat HaDin is launching a legal action in Israel to unlock the database of approximately 140,000 Holocaust survivors and their descendants. The database was established as part of the Israeli government’s Project Heart between 2011 and. The Israeli government, working in tandem with Jewish Agency for Israel invited applicants to take part in the restitution program. However, Israel Law Center was abruptly ended with all the participants in limbo.
Shurat HaDin has approached the government but has had no response. Israel’s Labour and Social Services Ministry stated that Project Heart wasn’t intended to be a scheme for individual claims. Information about claimants’ identities cannot be made public. Another theory suggests that Israel did not realize European governments’ reluctance when confronted with claims lists of hundreds of thousands.
