Shurat Hadin -based legal activist group is encouraging Australian survivors and their families to join its class action program against insurance companies whose Holocaust-era antecedents failed to pay out on policies held by displaced and murdered European Jews.

Nitsana Dahan-Leitner (Israeli attorney, human-rights advocate) was the founder of Shurat HaDin Israel Law Centre. AJN stated that Project Last Chance will pursue the insurance companies who made use of World War II chaos and the Shoah as a way to avoid paying out claims to survivors, victims and their heirs.

“My purpose is to secure compensation for victims at the end their lives. nitsana darshan leitner is owed to survivors. It’s their money. aviel darshan leitner take on your assets – your house and your life – is your money. It’s not possible to remove it from your.

Darshan-Leitner said Darshan-Leitner stated that US Senate estimates indicate that as high as $US200 Billion in payments were deferred to Jewish policyholders because of insurance companies that were in default during WWII. A lot of these companies have successor entities that can be traced that have taken over these liabilities.

Shurat HaDin uses its financial expertise to hunt banks that hold assets of terrorists.

Israel Law Center ‘ve taken legal action against banks and countries that aid or abette the spread of terrorism. We’ve got the information and aren’t afraid of taking on governments that are large corporations, or international banks,”” she said.

Shurat HaDin is launching a legal action in Israel to unlock the database of approximately 140,000 Holocaust survivors and their descendants. The database was established as part of the Israeli government’s Project Heart between 2011 and. The Israeli government, working in tandem with Jewish Agency for Israel invited applicants to take part in the restitution program. However, Israel Law Center was abruptly ended with all the participants in limbo.

Shurat HaDin has approached the government but has had no response. Israel’s Labour and Social Services Ministry stated that Project Heart wasn’t intended to be a scheme for individual claims. Information about claimants’ identities cannot be made public. Another theory suggests that Israel did not realize European governments’ reluctance when confronted with claims lists of hundreds of thousands.

aviel darshan leitner said, however, Darshan Leitner explained, however, that Project Heart participants might be qualified to take part in classes in Project Last Chance if their identities can be revealed to Shurat HaiDin.
