NEW YORK – Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today unveiled new records for arrivals of tourists to Israel from the United States in July and august. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans in July 2022. It was a 4 percent increase over 2019, while 71,000 American tourists visited Israel in August 2022.
“It is thrilling to witness a new increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels for the year 2019” said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. “The United States is our top market for inbound tourism to Israel and prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 that was sweeping the world, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism entry numbers each month. We’re so happy to see an improvement in the trend and anticipate a steady increase in the coming many months and years to come.”
Canada, not too far from the United States of America, is on track for surpassing the number of tourists visiting Israel. It reached 7,200 visitors in July 2022, and 6,000 visitors in tourists in August.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that “it’s thrilling to observe how Canada’s tourism is rebounding.” We are getting close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this increase in travel to Israel will continue as Canadians are more comfortable at ease abroad.
Israel has hosted more than 4.6million visitors in the year 2019 of which 969,600 came from the United States. Since May when the country was is now open to all tourists regardless of vaccination status over 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
